Hey yall, to preference this, I have a picking disorder where I use my finger to pick my skin. Recently, I got my nails done for homecoming, and I was physically unable to pick. I got dip nails with a tip, that lasted almost exactly a month. They were 55 bucks, and 68.75 with a hefty tip. What is the best way to get long lasting nails that aren’t too pricy and doesn’t ruin my nail bed so I can redo them for a while until I get out of my picking habit?

I would repost this into the r/dippowdernails sub instead of here since this is mostly a sub for nail lacquer. I do dip too and for me something that really helped make them last and helped me fight my urge to pick was putting on cuticle oil instead and rubbing it into my cuticles with my fingertip. It felt good and satisfying. You can also buy your own dip sets online or at Sally’s beauty and learn to do it yourself to cut down on costs. I do mine myself and spent about $60 initially and have used my kit for over a year now with a set a month
