I just wanted to share a review as someone with oily skin because finding a cushion that actually controls oil and doesn’t look too matte is honestly a struggle. I like my base to look glowy, but not greasy, just that healthy skin-like glow.
I’ve tried a bunch of high-end ones like Armani and Estée Lauder, but nothing really worked long-term until I tried Maogeping’s cushion, which is so good that I have to influence you here.
For those who don’t know, Maogeping is a high-end Chinese makeup brand founded by one of China’s OG professional makeup artists. I first tried their Caviar Flawless Cushion, which looked amazing right after application, super smooth with no cakiness and a really nice glow! But its oil control was not good, so I’d say it’s better for dry skin.
When I saw that Yami started carrying the Maogeping Astral Glory Long-Lasting Cushion, which is designed specifically for oily skin, I bought it right away. It’s honestly the best I’ve tried so far. It controls oil really well, blends beautifully, and even after my skin gets oily later in the day, it doesn’t separate or get patchy.
Just make sure to prep your skin properly but keep it simple. I usually use Torriden Dive-In Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Skin1004 sunscreen beforehand. With that combo, the cushion gives a hydrated matte finish, like a soft glow without looking dry or flat.
And I have to mention Maogeping blush in 806! It's such a cute, natural baby pink with an ultra-fine texture that blurs pores. Totally underrated.
I feel like C-Beauty makeup has been getting more and more exciting over the past couple of years. So many brands are really stepping up their game and I can’t wait to see what new products they will come out with.
I would love to hear about any C-Beauty favorites you are into as well. Please influence me!
