Okay friends, I need help!
I’ve only been occasionally stamping for a few years so I’ve just assumed it was user error, but this is starting to drive me crazy. Everytime I stamp, I use maniology sticky base under and one of their stamping top coats (original or water based) over the top and let that dry before using my usual top coat to seal it in (holo taco, vibrant scents, or, seche vite) Without fail, my top coat starts to peel after a day or two! I usually try to gently scrape off any compromised top coat and then reapply. If I don’t reapply, my stamp starts to fade off of my nails due to frequent hand washing/sanitizer use at work. Hard to see in the photos, sorry, I know…
Is this inevitable, do you have advice? Please and thank you 💅🏻✨💅🏻✨

Ooof, does this happen with ALL top coats? That’s a real pain.
The sticky base coat overtop of the nail polish I assume is to get the stamp to stick? That could be part of it and a somewhat unnecessary step that adds more variables to the problem but probably not the cause. The water-based top coat is specifically not supposed to soak in like a QDTC does, so it won’t smear what is underneath but the two aren’t mixing well. It normally isn’t an issue but I like your frequent hand washing exacerbates the situation and makes it peel. I’d say don’t take the water based top coat all the way to the edge so when you QDTC it, it seals it in kind of like a ravioli 😝
I’ve had this happen so much when I’ve used the smudge free top coat that I skip it now and try my best to just float my qdtc. Hopefully someone can chime in with some tips. I’ve been irked any time I’ve messed up a nice stamping.
Try ditching the no smudge and stamp on a barrier layer of ordinary top coat during that step instead.
I had this issue with the maniology no smudge top coat. I changed to a different brand’s no smudge top coat and it doesn’t have this problem.
I’ve been using Uber Chic Beauty’s stamping top coat and haven’t had any peeling unless I’ve chipped the polish. Before I got it I would use a non quick dry top coat on a stamper to put over the stamp.
