I'm new to having nails so I'm still getting a feel for what they can and cannot take. I was so sure that work would take them out, because I work at a grocery store and do a lot of heavy lifting and handling awkward objects like 40 packs of water and cases of Pop. However, it was opening a cardboard box of cat litter that did them in. Luckily it happened on my day off and I was already planning on getting a fill later this week so I was able to get them fixed immediately.

Pet-related incidents are 99% of the cause of my broken nails. The other 1% is the mf laundry basket.

Length too long for your natural nail length and bad apex placement caused this.

Second pic is a more suitable length.

Nail tech here- please don’t use your nails as tools. If you have to open something, use something else to open it. Maybe next time pry open the box with a butter knife. Open can tabs with a spoon. Try not to pick at stuff. You’ll adjust 🙂

Girl!!!!! I refuse to open cat litter anymore because this happened to me once! I’m so sorry, rip 😭

(If I must open the dreaded cat litter box, I use scissors and stab at the side now haha. I will not risk this again.)

Holy 💩 that’s crazy. I’ve maybe broken one acrylic here and there but that’s wild. Maybe those are not the right nails for you.
