Hello all, please give me a reality check–are these bubbles are from forgetting the former part of the "medium-thick" guidance for the second coat of a magnetic? Or could it be something else? I tried not to go as thick this time, but am pretty sure I failed. The bubbles were there before the Magic Effect.

Thank you!

Wow! That’s really 🫧🧼bubbly 🧼🫧.
I don’t have any guidance, sorry.
I just wanted to say how bubbly that looks. 😳
This happens to me when I dont let the last coat dry enough before putting another coat.
Shaking your nail polish bottles also can do this, and/or having a top coat that is too thick and needs to be thinned out or replaced if its very old.
Maybe other things could cause it too… but troubleshooting the above would usually fix bubbles in my experience
Those look like bubbles to me. I usually get bubbles if I shake the polish a lot (to get it mixed) and don’t wait long enough before application, or if I do too thick of a coat. I also make sure to wait a solid 30 mins – 1 hr before putting on a top coat or else I might get bubbles after top coat. I think if the polish is too thick/gloopy, it will contribute to more bubbles…
I love the effect lol
I…really like this 😂😍 when you find out what got youso many bubblies, let us know, i want to recreate it 😂
This exact thing happened to me for my magnetic polish. I think it’s from 3 factors, or a combination of them:
1. Not waiting long enough after the last coat (esp if you are adding a super thick magnetic coat on top
2. Adding top coat too quickly after my final coat
3. Using a thick layer of polish in general is probably more likely to generate bubbles as it dries
I’ve just extended the time between coats to account for this, which makes a magnetic manicure really long. I just magnetize the final layer now to account for the extra time
There can be a lot of things that cause bubbling as you’ve seen from all of the other comments, so it’ll be a matter of figuring out which one(s) is causing them. Personally, this happens to me when I go too thick on a coat, which is tricky to get right with magnetics. I’ve seen it explained as solvents drying, but getting trapped because the layers haven’t fully dried. Adding a little thinner might also help.
I had a lot of bubbles form when I did my nails while it was humid and had a fan nearby (about 15 feet away from me and I could feel the air movement). I also just set a 7 minute timer for coats rather than checking to see if the layers were dry.
I assume the bubbles on my nails were from those errors, but I also used drk magic effect then seal coat then quick dry top coat, so there were a lot of potential fail points.
Apart from what others have said high humidity and wind can also cause bubbles!
Is there reflective glitter in the polish? BC it really looks like the texture of reflective glitter to me.
The bubbles are a reaction from your base or top coat polish. I switched to Seche Vite from Sally Hansen and it stopped! I was seeing more bubbles using Sally Hansen with Moon Cat polish.
Try switching your base and top coats to see if the reaction stops.
Also, let your base coats, regular color polish layers, and top coats dry between.
