5) swatch sticks, 3 coats, indirect sunlight
They do have a lot of similar properties. I'm not 100% sure that I personally needed both, but they are different enough that I think you could justify it. If you don't want to be spending $16 or whatever on MC, then Fair Isle will absolutely scratch the itch for much less (snagged this during her sale for $6.50).
MC definitely has a more… Rotten look to it – browner base, the green end of the flash is more lime where the Lyn B is a little more teal. Lyn B has a pinker base and at 3-4 coats, it never gets as dark as MC does.

Thanks for doing this comparison! I have Root of All Evil and have been thinking of getting Fair Isle. I didn’t even realize how similar they were, but now I know I don’t really need Fair Isle.
