Hello, I wanted to make this post since I think I share a common trait with many people who live in a warm climate where there is a tan season and a pale season, to show you how the Flower Knows complication products look on my skin tone to hopefully help out others who have similar skin tones when deciding what to buy and what to skip out on.

I wear Maybelline Matte Poreless foundation in 128

I am wearing:
🐚Flower Knows Shell’s Jewel radiance primer in
01 Mint Green
Shell’s Jewel Baked Powder in 02 Dreamy Pink
🧸Sweetie Bear mini setting powder in 01 Cocoa

Review:
🐚Shell’s Jewel primer
Honestly didn’t think I’d love it as much as I do, but I love the radiance primer. I have red blotchy spots and acne scar pigmentation and it cancels it out almost completely. It scared me the first time I used ir because it looked so white but when I put my foundation on top it just looked normal. It is a dry formula that feels sort of like the urban decay eyeshadow primer, I think it’s fabulous for oily skin but it would probably feel unpleasant on dry skin. It has a sour apple green scent so if you are sensitive to scents, I’d skip on it. I normally react pretty badly to fragrance but this hasn’t broken me out yet. The price is steep, so I’d recommend buying it on sale or StyleVana.

Shell’s Jewel Baked Powder 02 Dreamy Pink

Also smells a little like green apple, I think this is the scent of most of this collection’s products. It is a lot more subtle in the blush though. It is super fine, buttery soft and pleasant on the skin. I have oily combo skin so YMMV but it feels very nice and looks amazing on the skin when freshly applied… however …if I use it without prepping with a hydrating primer it becomes patchy. Maybe I apply it too heavy handedly so that might have been a user error on my end, but in the humidity I need it so I don’t look like a disco ball. This product felt like it stayed on top of my skin even as the day went on, I was hoping it would blend a bit more into my skin a bit more. It looks fine in natural light and bright lights but in low lighting settings I definitely looked like an auntie wearing a few shades lighter of my foundation.

Honestly a bit underwhelmed by this one. Again, the packaging is INSANELY cute, but for the price on the US website I’d hold out until it was on sale or buy it on Taobao or AliExpress or StyleVana. It gets points for how beautiful it is, I might end up using this to set my highlighter so that I don’t waste it but I think it’s just too light on me.

🧸Sweetie Bear mini setting powder 01 Cocoa

It has a very light chocolate scent, which I adore. It is very finely milled and feels almost like nothing at all when I applied it with the puff or with my kabuki brush, but I did see it neutralize my shiny oily skin.

It honestly doesn’t look too pale when my makeup sets. As you can see in the photos, my skin is brighter but I don’t think it’s distracting. It’s hard in the pan so it doesn’t cover you in dust when you do open it for touch ups. The price point is again where I’m subtracting points because I think there are cheaper, comparable powders out there, but the packaging is so freakin cute and it’s handy to have for small touch-ups.
