Trying out longer nails. Is it normal to have a harder time typing on your phone? If so, will I get used to it?

  1. There are lots of things that are hard at first with nails, but yes, you’ll get used to it!!
    They look beautiful!

It’s definitely normal. But you’ll adjust and find it easier as you get used to them

  3. Yes, there’s a learning curve at first but you will get used to it…and then if you ever go back short, you’ll find it’s hard to type without them 😂

  4. This is about the length of my natural nails and I came from just nubs, while it is a little humbling at the beginning you do get used to it. I just use the pads of my thumbs to type.

you’ll get used to it!!! i type more with the edge/ side of my thumbs when i have longer nails

  6. These are so pretty and look great on you! And yes, every time I switch up my length, I have to slightly adjust with typing at work and on my phone lol

  7. Went to ask a question and saw your og post missing haha. I think your nails could be a bit long. Depends on what you enjoy doing. Some friends have press ons that are easy to remove so most of the time they have short nails

    Gorgeous!
Yes it is much harder to do things with longer nails. You will get used to it. If you end up finding things too difficult, but you want to keep doing long nails, they make special accessibility tools for people with low finger strength/long nails! Like card grabbers, soda can openers, etc.

  9. I could never get used to typing on my phone with long nails (about as long as in the picture), so since I mostly use my thumbs, I usually keep make them a bit shorter. It’s not really noticeable, since thumb nails are naturally larger than the others anyway

  10. Yes, lol. Everything is a re-learning experience with every new length. And it happens again if you take them off or go shorter. That said, I have fairly long claws right now and I weight lift, run, hike, and have no problem with anything EXCEPT using an actual pen. But I only need to use a pen once or twice a year so, fair trade off for me. I carry a pair of tweezers in my purse for random things like pulling credit cards out of ATMs (surprisingly hard sometimes) and I use my knuckles for push button situations.

  11. You’ll get used to it then will need to adapt again if you go shorter or have them taken off. They look fab!

Like anything really, you will learn to adjust! Think of those women who have super long nails. They’ve adjusted around it and gotten used to it. When I had long nails for a long time and finally went short I kept bumping my hands into things because I wasn’t used to short nails!

  13. It’s a learning curve. I personally can’t scroll with the pad/pall of my hands right thumb I always wind up swiping between screens. You’ll learn to do lots of things with the sides of your fingertips and if you drink a lot of cans get an opener keychain

  14. These are so pretty! I get the struggle though lol if I haven’t done my nails in a long time I find them frustrating when I finally get them done again

These are beautiful! 🤩 and yes at first it’ll be hard and feel different from what you’re used to, but you will get used to it and it’ll be a piece of cake!

  16. Yes, it’s a learning curve. I alternate between thumb pads and side of finger for my phone! Now I’m less precise without nails.

When I dramatically change my nail length, either by doing extensions *or* cutting them quite short, there’s a brief adjustment period where using my phone and typing is awkward; you basically need to slightly adjust the angle at which your fingertips hit the keyboard.

The point where typing and other daily activities are actually affected is when your nails are much longer. Basically your nails are long, but they’re not *long.*
