I’ve been dealing with a bad vertical split in my right index finger nail for 10 years. I’ve been to 3 different Dermatologist’s, one of whom specializes in fingernail problems. No one had an answer for me, except to live with it and keep my nails short. I asked to have my nail removed thinking starting over with a completely new nail would fix the problem but no one wanted to.
So I took matters into my own hand and ordered an acrylic nail kit from Amazon for $8.00. I put the acrylic over the entire nail bed, been doing it since May, and it’s working! The nail is growing out and the crack is improving.
I’m guessing it’ll be another 4-6 months and my vertical split will be a thing of the past!

I did the same thing. It took forever but it’s gone now. I quit using acrylic not that’s it gone and it’s back to normal.
