back at it again with another make your own-type workshop in korea! i made my own face cleanser at whipped house in seongu. from what i’m aware of this experience is only available to tourists. i booked this through creatrip and it was a pretty seamless experience overall.
prior to making the cleanser they do a skin consultation on you to determine which cleanser is most suitable for your skin type – iirc the three cleanser types they have are fig for dryness, yuzu to brighten and tea tree for oiliness. the skin consultation is done using a really fancy machine that tells you your skin age relative to your actual age haha. there's also samples for you to test out of their actual product while you're waiting and everything smelled soooo nice.
once your cleanser is picked you start literally whipping the face cleanser with a whisk. whipping the cleanser is what gives it the airy texture, and you can use the cleanser similarly to the arencia mochi one where it also doubles as a mask. once your cleanser is whipped you pipe it into the jar like buttercream! my friend’s turned out much prettier than mine but tbh it all gets squished into the jar once you put the lid on. when you're done you get to package it up and decorate it with some cute paper tags.
the session also came with some free gifts! we got samples of the whipped body butter and a scrub. they also had a review event on creatrip where if you left a review you can get an additional free gift. i ended up getting another body butter sample, and my friend got a free headband.
there were 4 other people in our workshop and it was conducted bilingually in english (for me and my friend) and in japanese (for the other 4 people). big ups to the staff for being able to converse in both languages for all of us. overall i’d absolutely recommend trying this out if you want to experience something unique while visiting korea!
