So a little while ago I found these samples at @Cosme in Japan for Unove's new(?) frizz-calming hair line!! I was so excited when I found this, because I am already a fan of their original shampoo+conditioner, so I thought this would be perfect for me.
For reference, my hair is a mix of 2b/2c & color-treated so frizz is one of my top concerns. My hair is also med-high porosity.
So, for the review!
First thing i noticed was that the scent was very nice! I'm not a huge fan of the original scent, because i don't like powdery scents – but this one was brighter and fruitier, which is more my taste.
However… other than the scent, this product really missed the mark for me. Just LOOKING at my hair, it looks fine – frizz is mostly controlled and curls were defined OK. But, my hair felt SO sticky! I couldn't run my fingers through my hair at all and it didn't feel soft.
Not sure why it turned out like this… I was using my normal hair products with it (non-AB leave in conditioner + mis en scene oil) and styled as normal (air dry) so maybe that had an impact? The line includes a hair milk that I'm curious about trying, but I'm hesitant after trying the shampoo+conditioner 😭
Overall I would rate it 6.5/10 – if I had bought it I would use it, its not so bad its unusable & maybe I could've figured it out, but to me its not worth the hassle. Maybe it might be nice for low porosity hair?
