I rarely get my nails done like this but I think I’m getting engaged this weekend so I wanted to be prepared. I asked for builder gel to help my natural nails grow, tips, ombré French, and chrome.

It was $115 without tip… is this the usual pricing?

I would say that’s pretty standard! In my city, salons will add onto the base price of a builder gel full set when we ask for things like French, ombré, and chrome. Each detail adds onto the base price, but hey they look lovely!! ❤️

Gel manicure alone probably like 60-80 then depending on the place 10-20 charge for the ombré ($15 where I go) and the same thing about the up charge for the chrome….when you get add ons ask how much more they are in advance, the nails look good btw if not just a bit dry around ur cuticles but most of places removing cuticles is not allowed so idk

Yes. But Unfortunately. These days it’s very typical, an up charge for French, diff shape, ombré designs, etc.

Yes it’s normal. I would expect the fills for maintenance to be lower. They look great. For me, I pay $65 for a base fill. If you want to pay less to maintain them, stick with no or less extras.

I guess I’m not seeing ombré or chrome, but they look nice. Your cuticles need oil, stat! That’ll help.

Nah that’s normal and they look good. I’m sure there’s places that will do it cheaper but it will be wonky

They look lovely. And that sounds about right or pricing. However, what made me STOP getting my nails done is that with a service like this, they do not even touch your cuticles. They could have at least cleaned up teh chrome better around your cuticles. I have yet to find a nail tech trim cuticles before applying paint etc.

  8. Yes they look amazing. I got my nails for an engagement and it was around the same amount.

  9. That’s a bit steep to me, but I don’t usually get gel builder, I do acrylic.

My last fill with pink + white ombré and chrome was $65.

(Congrats on your upcoming engagement! I hope to see these same nails on r/engagementrings 🥰)

I know all the other comments are saying it’s standard pricing but idk seems like a lot to me. Of course it depends on where you live. I get gel powder and it’s like $60 for a full set and $40 for a fill (I know this is a great price, I did a lot of shopping around to find a tech that does great work that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg!) A lot of places charge extra for both ombré and chrome. I would expect like an extra $20 max though. And I have no idea what the standard price of builder gel is vs. gel powder or acrylic.
