Apologies for the terrible lighting and the bubbles in the polish, top coat problems.

I’m struggling with cleaning up my manicures. This is my attempt at cleaning up the edges and some of the cuticle after polish and before top coat but I’m finding it just doesn’t work at all. My brush seems to make the colour bleed all over the cuticle and get stuck and does not remove my polish.

I’m using 100% acetone and the elf concealer brush. What am I doing wrong and why isn’t this working for me!!

  1. I mean I think they look great. Perhaps the gap from the PNF is a bit big, but from a distance no-one else would notice. I also cannot get on with clearing up with a brush, I use an orange stick for immediate clean-up.

  2. Reds really bleed a lot when you try to do clean up with a brush and acetone. I try to get most of it off with a cuticle stick first to minimize the amount of pigment bleeding around, but even then, it’s not as clean as cleaning up other colours.

But also, nobody will notice it like you do. Granted, your photos aren’t well lit, but I can’t really see it. Your work looks pretty great to me. I was honestly puzzled by your “What am I doing wrong?”

I use liquid latex around my fingers where I don’t want polish to go. It works pretty well.
