I came across a supplier report recently that really put things into perspective. A lot of the brands we talk about here — Morphe, Rare Beauty, Fenty Beauty, Anastasia Beverly Hills — are produced by the same handful of factories in China, Italy, Korea, and Taiwan. Some even listed Flower Beauty, which feels ironic given the closure news.

Most of these factories specialize in private-label palettes and blushes. Brands can adjust the formula, packaging, or shade curation, but the base manufacturing often comes from the same place. For anyone curious, the supplier breakdown is here: https://www.xchainova.com/source/cmg51zq3q000fl504s567xk1o

It makes me look at beauty guru launches differently. The branding and story might change, but the backbone is surprisingly connected.

  1. i mean, different qualities of ingredients create different qualities of products that create different effects and use experiences for the consumer. manufacturing in the same factory doesn’t mean as much as i think some of us may think. a factory is just where the manufacturing equipment and skilled labor executes the product design. it’s the particularities of the formulas, packaging, and shade design that makes a product special
