Have a wedding this week and I showed the woman doing my nails this pic (pic #1). She said "A black ombre?" this is probably my 4th time getting my nails done and first time straying from just one colour so I was like ok she probably knows what she's talking about.

Pic #2, #3 and #4 are what I walked out with. I am aware the reference pic could be edited but I just feel like mine are not blended at all? And are also not black enough. They're almost brown in person.

Am I insane or would it be ok for me to reach out and asked them to maybe fix it (I'd be so fine with just normal black nails I am never straying from 1 basic colour ever again)

While I do think the first picture is obviously edited, what you’re asking for is pretty simple. A one color ombre. And yes, it should be blended a bit more.

  2. i definitely can see what you mean by the color and blend. i’ve definitely had darker black nails than that, and the blend just doesn’t flow well it kinda just.. stops. i would try and get them repainted/done. or even just ask them to adjust the blend becuase the color is still pretty

  3. First pic is probably edited, they usually all are, you should have gone with a sharper shaped stiletto (the inspiration pic seems to have the edges more defined to the point, while yours look more pre-shaped) and your nail tech needs to work on her blending techniques. Otherwise they’re not too bad, but I’m hoping they didn’t charge you a lot… It seems like a less skilled artist’s work, unfortunately, like they had somebody new attending you.

  4. I think the worst thing about this is the shape of the nail. In the original picture they’re more like semi claw nails. The ombre can easily be redone if you go to a pro they can take off the top layer and just do it again.
