Spoiler Alert: This might be the worst lip product I’ve purchased across kbeauty, jbeauty, and cbeauty. Saw this new release by dasique and it looked so cute…well…unfortunately I thought I’d make a review post of my experience to inform others.

Before we get further into this review, let’s take a look of what the product promised/advertised to us:

“A soft, bouncy texture that creates a jelly-like glow on your lips and cheeks.

✓A new concept texture with a bouncy, pudding-like feel.
✓ A watery glow for lips and cheeks that can be layered with each swipe, leaving a radiant finish.
✓ Clear color payoff that stays true to the initial shade.
✓ A brush integrated into a cute, pudding-shaped container for convenience. (Source: dasique.com)

Obviously it’s advertising and it’s not going to check off all of these boxes. But I figured it would at least hit one right?

WRONG. I was very wrong.

Personal Info: I have dry lips so I purchase a LOT of lippies, lip balms, moisturizers etc (and empty them regularly as well). My lips have some wrinkles but nothing crazy, esp if I apply a lippie.

Product Info: I bought this product mainly because the packaging is so so cute but also cuz I know dasique is a fairly reliable brand, and I figured another lip product couldn’t hurt.

  • The packaging was indeed very cute after seeing it in person. But it’s also very difficult to open and use. There is a secondary plastic lid that is extremely difficult to pop off, and there’s a lot of product on it so you feel forced to keep it on/use it. The pot contains very little product (4g) but isn’t really an issue considering I won’t be using it. It comes with an applicator wand but is extremely hard. I had to use my finger cuz the wand was not cutting it. There’s a tiny hole to insert the applicator which is kinda cool.

  • The scent is quite artificial…kind of like gummy fruit candy? But not in a good way.

  • The color swatch online is a dark purple. The product itself does look similar to how it is online. It looks very pigmented but as you can see, the color payoff is almost zero (will get more into this later). The texture is goopy and looks pigmented so it basically stains my hands and is a risk to my clothes for stains. It’s kind of like a lip gloss/tint liquid that was meant to be in a bottle not a pot. It feels very sticky, runny, and goopy all at the same time, and therefore is difficult to apply.

My experience:

  • Application feels super messy. I mentioned it a bit in the previous sections but because the applicator is so hard, I just used my fingers to apply it (which is a reasonable thing to do for a pot lippie imo.) However, it’s basically like a sticky liquid which makes the application experience messy and kinda gross.

It’s also not very pigmented? Like when I tried applying it on my lips, the product didn’t spread evenly and all the pigment settled into my lips, making my lip wrinkles more visible. The pigment wasn’t very strong either, and the picture I have show is after TWO layers of application. Like the quality overall feels very low.

The feeling of the product is like a sticky oil that settles on the top of your lips and as time passes, the pigment settling into the wrinkles gets WORSE. It doesn’t feel moisturizing at all and makes my lips look like a dehydrated dry booty rather than the jelly it promised me.

I think the photo I took actually doesn’t show how bad it looks irl so I took a comparison photo with Romand’s Glasting color gloss (grapy way, one layer) which is similar in texture but much better in every aspect.

Overall this lip product might be one of the worst I’ve tried in terms of application, pigment, quality, and moisturizing. It promises everything jelly, but delivers anything but jelly. The texture is not bouncy nor pudding like, the finish is not glossy, it is OILY, and the application wand is not convenient. I do not reccomend this product, and it is extremely overpriced imo (17 dollars) for such a low quality product. The only pro is the packaging but even then there are better options nowadays for cute lippies.

If you have any other questions I’d be happy to answer!
