Hi!

I was tempted to use the “Empties” flair, but there is not enough said about this product that my skin seemed to absolutely love. So here is a review instead!

Ginger 6 Like White Blossom Essence Toner was recommended to me by the “Skin Caffeine” site whose creator offers an assessment of skin needs based on a survey with a selection of products available on their site as well as personalized use. This is a French website with a strong selection of Asian and European products, mostly from independent companies vetted and curated by the site creator. I purchased this toner about 6 months ago, and have been using it day and night daily after introducing it alone in my routine. Please keep in mind that I try hard to not add more than one product a week into my routine.

I am 40yo and my skin type is very dry in winter, and sensitive with a tendency towards cystic spots or red patches when disturbed.

The good:

My skin LOVED this essence. I had lost a bit of hope on essences in the 2000s and this product renewed my interest in this product type (which means I’ll soon be trying many more!). The texture is light with a bit of that nice viscosity that makes K Beauty products so enjoyable. It feels like a refreshing and hydrating and even a bit brightening essence full of antioxidants and soothing ingredients. I even applied it around my sensitive eyes area and it felt really nice. I also have to add that the minimal packaging looked beautiful in my bathroom and it helped wanting to reach for it even on days where I was tired and wanted a more minimal approach to my routine.

The bad:

The main ingredient is ginger water, which made me wary that it might sting a bit. It only did if and when my skin was a bit irritated (which I used as a signal to cut short my routine and go straight to moisturizer or cica balm for the evening).

It also contains niacinamide and rRosa Damascena Oil. My skin loves both, but not all skins might. If you are sensitive to these ingredients, this may not be for you.

On the price side, it does cost 22€ / 22$ +. So compared to other toners and essences in my YesStyle cart, it can be expensive… but considering one bottle lasted 6 months with day and night daily use, I can confidently say that a little goes a long way with this essence whose opening controls the flow of product properly. Also, I noticed zero change in product from opening to the last drop.

The ugly:

It is really hard for me to find major flaws for this product (and I tend to put the bar quite high!).

The only thing may be accessibility. Ginger6 seems to be a bit of a smaller brand. It is clearly Korean (here is their website https://m.ginger6.co.kr ). Yet, none of the big KBeauty 3 store Olive Young, YesStyle or Stylevana sell the brand. It is available in French and European KBeauty stores including Haruharubeauty, KBeauty.fr and many others. In the US, I noticed it is available on Amazon. Perhaps it is because it is an indie brand, still access might explain why this gem is not better known.

Conclusion:

I have to give a 9.5/10 to this one. If it were more suited for all (based on ingredients), a bit cheaper and easier to get, I would give it a 10/10.

Soon I will post asking for recommendations on other toners. Still, this is how high the bar is and I am now seriously doubtful that I’ll find something I love as much as the Ginger 6 Like White Blossom Essence Toner! ☺️

Thanks for reading!
