First off, this is a “perfume shampoo” and all the TikTok reviews really hype up the scent. I got the Fig Fog set and I think the shampoo smells like a generic scented hand soap and it doesn’t linger. The treatment smells similar but a little more creamy, and it leaves a super faint fruit and coconut scent. It’s fine, not too sweet, but nothing special. I would not buy this set for the scent, but I did actually like these products.
About me: I have very fine but dense curly hair that’s easily weighed down. I also have an oily, dandruff-prone scalp, and dry ends.
Shampoo:
I really like this shampoo and I think it would work for many hair types. I double shampoo and it leaves my hair clean and light but not stripped. It did not irritate my sensitive scalp at all. I saw some reviews say this product has a cooling, tingly sensation, but I didn’t feel that at. It says it helps with a flaky scalp, but it doesn’t contain active ingredients to fight dandruff so it won’t replace a medicated shampoo like t-Sal or nizoral. I like that it contains proteins, which makes my fine hair feel strong.
Treatment:
I am super impressed by this treatment. I assume it’s a hair mask and I use it like conditioner. You only get 5 ounces of product and I thought it was overpriced, but it’s actually super concentrated. I mix a dime sized amount with a little water in my palms and it easily distributes and conditions my dense, medium length hair. It leaves my wet hair feeling very slick and conditioned, even after rinsing out, and I assumed that it would dry greasy and heavy. I was totally wrong, my hair dries very soft and I can still get plenty of volume.
Overall: 4/5. This set leaves my scalp feeling clean and soothed and makes my hair feel strong, soft, and lightweight but it does not deliver on the “perfume” aspect (IMHO). The scent is not any stronger or more unique than Dove or Aveeno, etc. The packaging looks and feels premium. I got the set for $30. By the oz that’s pretty similar to the most expensive products at the drugstore but much cheaper than Sephora, which seems fair. I will be buying it again!
